The number of cores in modern mobile devices has long been a surprise. But if you ask the user why so much is required on a regular phone, then he is unlikely to be able to give a clear answer. And in fact, why does a smartphone need 8, or even 10 cores, if a computer requires only 6 or even 4 cores in average tasks? The fact is that in a PC all the cores are equal, in mobile phones, some are high-performance, and some are energy-efficient. And if you do not want to understand this issue for a long time, then our rating of smartphones with 10-core processors will help you choose the best smartphone for your needs and allocated budget.
TOP 5 smartphones with a 10-core processor
All smartphones in our review are based on the hardware platform from MediaTek. Each of the "stones" in the phones discussed below contains two cores needed to work with games and demanding applications, 4 medium cores that are used when running simpler programs, and 4 with the lowest power consumption and lowest performance, which are included in the simplest tasks. The described smartphones also boast of excellent design and reliable assembly, and their average cost is only 16 thousand rubles.
1.Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X 4 / 64GB
The rating opens with a 10-core smartphone with a good 4100 mAh battery, which can provide 1.5-2 days of battery life under moderate load. Unfortunately, the Redmi Note 4X does not provide fast charging, so it will take about 2.5 hours to fully fill the battery. At the same time, the device is the only one in the review equipped with a micro-USB port, not Type-C. But the price of the device starts from modest 140 $, which is just fine for the proposed characteristics:
- IPS display with a diagonal of 5.5 inches and a resolution of Full HD;
- infrared port for controlling home appliances;
- 4 RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory;
- Helio X20 processor with Mali-T880 graphics.
An inexpensive 10-core smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X is available in several body colors. The most popular of these are black and gray, but pink, gold, light blue and blue are also on sale. In other versions, but usually in the Chinese market, additional colors are offered. Moreover, in all solutions, with the exception of black, the front panel is painted white.
What we liked:
- design and assembly above stated value;
- the hardware platform is enough for any task;
- the battery can even last for 2-3 days;
- a lot of RAM and permanent memory;
- convenience of the proprietary MIUI shell;
- large and bright Full HD screen;
- low cost;
- aluminium case.
Minuses:
- weak cameras;
- no NFC chip.
2. Meizu Pro 7 Plus 64GB
The next place was taken by, perhaps, the best smartphone with a powerful 10-core processor from the Meizu company - the Pro 7 Plus model. Once this device was not the most successful flagship of the manufacturer. And the reason was not in the device itself, but in its significantly overpriced, which frightens off most potential buyers. Now the phone costs on average 231 $ and is one of the most interesting solutions in the middle price category.
A distinctive feature of the Pro 7 Plus smartphone is the second display on the back. Its diagonal and resolution are 1.9 inches and 536 × 240 pixels, respectively. Useful options on the second screen include displaying notifications, controlling music, viewing the weather and, of course, taking selfies to the main camera.
The stylish smartphone is equipped with the most powerful processor in the Helix X30 ranking.Its maximum frequency is 2.5 GHz for a pair of high-performance cores. Also in this "stone" there are two 4-core groups with frequencies of 2.2 and 1.9 GHz, respectively. They are accompanied by a graphics accelerator from PowerVR. RAM and permanent memory in the Pro 7 Plus are available 6 and 64 gigabytes, which is enough for any task.
Advantages:
- sound chip CS43130 Master HIFI;
- rear camera with Sony modules (2 × IMX386, 12 MP each);
- main AMOLED screen with QHD resolution;
- the presence of an additional display with a diagonal of 1.9 inches;
- attractive design and excellent build;
- smart fingerprint scanner.
Disadvantages:
- there is no NFC module.
3. Ulefone Gemini Pro
If you look at the front panel of the Gemini Pro, then this smartphone can be easily confused with Meizu products. The device has a similar design and even the shape of the touch button under the screen, which has a built-in fingerprint scanner, does not differ from the competitor. But when drawing the back panel, Ulefone was inspired by the iPhone 7 Plus. The body of the smartphone with a 10-core Helio X27 processor is made of black or red metal.
The integrity of the rear panel is violated only by the antenna dividers, which are practically invisible in the dark version, which makes them look neater on it. There is also a dual camera, which includes a pair of 13 MP modules, and a flash. The front panel of the smartphone is occupied by a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution, and on the top and bottom edges of the device there is a 3.5 mm output and a charging connector.
Advantages:
- excellent, if not unique design;
- high-quality 5.5-inch screen;
- a lot of RAM and permanent memory;
- cost from 154 $;
- sound thanks to a separate audio chip;
- Battery (3680 mAh) with support for fast charging;
- excellent main camera for its price;
- a good package of delivery.
Disadvantages:
- poor optimization drains the battery quickly;
- it gets very hot under load;
- minor flaws in the software.
4. Meizu MX6 3 / 32GB
In second place is the Meizu MX6 phone, which boasts an excellent design, a reliable metal case, and a 5.5-inch Full HD screen. The smartphone is equipped with a 10-core Helio X20 processor and Mali-T880 graphics, while RAM and ROM are available in the mobile phone 3 and 32 GB, respectively. The stylish MX6 is powered by a 3060 mAh battery that supports fast charging.
As the main camera, the manufacturer chose the IMX368 sensor from Sony, and, judging by customer reviews, it is very good, as for the price tag in 210 $... Like other devices from the manufacturer, the smartphone pleases with excellent sound. However, you won't be able to record a lot of music on the device itself, because the built-in storage cannot be expanded with memory cards. However, this is the only serious omission.
Advantages:
- stunning appearance;
- good rear camera;
- reasoned price;
- brightness and color rendering;
- balanced "filling";
Disadvantages:
- scratch-resistant display coating;
- cannot install microSD.
5. Meizu Pro 6 32GB
If you're looking for something more compact, then the Pro 6 smartphone with the powerful 10-core Helio X25 processor is just what you need. This device Meizu has equipped with a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The display of the device is made using AMOLED technology, which guarantees deep blacks. The storage in the reviewed model is available at 32 GB and is unfortunately not expandable. But if this nuance does not bother everyone, then many swear at a battery with a capacity of only 2560 mAh in reviews about the smartphone. In the best case, this is enough for a day of work with a load below average. Active use will drain the smartphone battery in about 4 hours.
Advantages:
- optimal body dimensions;
- excellent display calibration;
- fast fingerprint scanner;
- enough RAM for everything;
- sufficiently productive;
- availability of fast charging Super mCharge;
- pleasant sound in headphones.
Disadvantages:
- very weak battery;
- low brightness display;
- no memory card slot.
Which 10-core smartphone is better to buy
While compiling our list of the best 10-core smartphones, we looked at many interesting phones.However, most often our attention was attracted by the products of the Chinese company Meizu. It was this brand that got 3 out of 5 places in our TOP. The most interesting model of the manufacturer can be called the Pro 7 Plus. The MX6 is also a pretty good option. Ulefone and Xiaomi showed themselves to be worthy competitors of Meizu, which will cost significantly less, while offering excellent characteristics.
