Apple has implemented iOS 12.1.3, which minimizes bugs related to the Messages app, iPad audio, and CarPlay connectivity.
The update is already available to download over the air by going to the Settings app and selecting Software Update at the top of the menu.
The release notes for the update state that it fixes an issue affecting the ability to scroll through photos in Messages, and also fixes an audio positioning issue when playing music through an external speaker on the new iPad Pro line.
It also fixes a bug that caused some CarPlay systems on the manufacturer's flagships to not work correctly.
Officially, it looks like this:
- the smoothness of scrolling photos in messages is optimized;
- fixed the problem of stripes in the photo, which occurred after sending them from the gallery;
- sound when playing from external devices on iPad Pro (2018) is free from distortion;
- fixed a bug that occurred when connecting iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max to CarPlay.
For HomePod owners - speaker problems have been minimized, interaction with Siri has been optimized. There are also minor updates available for macOS (10.14.3) and tvOS (12.1.2), bringing minor stability improvements.
